You might have seen the recent fabulous series of The Real Marigold On Tour adventures where a motley crew of fabulous eccentrics travel round the world trying to identify where would be best for them to retire? Visiting India, China, Chile and Iceland the team see the fabulous diversity that makes the many cultures and peoples of this glorious planet such an ever changing kaleidoscope.
I’ve been extremely privileged to visit most of the countries too and Iceland in particular struck me as one of the most spectacular in terms of scenery and contrasts. From the heavenly icy waterfalls to the steaming, powerful and majestic geysers; there was something of ‘another world’ about the landscape. The food too was spectacular and the people were so friendly. No wonder, as we discovered in the series, these people live the longest on the planet.
This week’s chill out comes from that land of fire and ice. From its volcanoes and hot springs to its massive glaciers and lava fields. It was there that I met Johnnie Ball at the swim up bar in the Blue Lagoon thermal spring. And if that’s not a reason to visit if you can, I don’t know what is 🙂
Have a great week ahead enjoying all of its contrasts – the fire, the ice and everything in-between. But above all, enjoy the adventure….
Thank you Mike for another lovely MMM.
