As humans we commemorate events. It gives us a sense of belonging and attempts to rationalise things that sometimes just don’t make sense.
This week we marked the anniversary of the demise of our weekly meet ups on the wireless and I’d like to thank you for all your friendship during the decade before then and the 7 years since!
This weekend I’ve not only celebrated my Mum’s 80th but the whole family met to visit Chelsea FC where they’ve very kindly erected a plaque to my brother who was a lifelong fan. Gone before his time, but our visit and time spent at the Shed in some way tried to show that we will always remember him – until we meet again.
So for this week’s Mellow Moment, the one that ended it for us all in 2011 – remixed. The sublime, the unsurpassable, the exquisite…..Brian Eno.
Thanks very much for all of those Sunday afternoon Wireless programmes’ they were so informative and interesting. I really enjoyed them and your company. Thanks for being there. x
Thank you Mike for a lovely MMM. One of my favourites. Hope your Mum had a lovely Birthday.
