For the last few days I’ve had the delight of visiting the Emerald Isle. Standing on the rugged southeastern coast near Waterford with the waves crashing, the sun on my face and the fierce wind almost blowing me off the cliffs, I felt at one with nature. It was a blissful experience. I then visited the ruins of Templar churches and Franciscan abbeys before heading northwards to visit the Guinness factory in Dublin for a pint of the ruby red – well it has to be done…
Back home I was hit by the heat and humidity you’ve been experiencing. After sub zero temperatures and thick snow only recently, this was again a marvel of Mother Nature’s supreme power.
It reminded me of the Gaelic prayer that I saw on various parts of the airport as I was heading home. As we listen to this week’s chill out and we emerge from our winter’s hibernation it’s my wish for you too…
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Hi Mike. I too love this , but I learnt it at a choir I attended. It’s the Irish travellers prayer. Lovely to see you write about your visit. I am so happy it inspired you so much. It’s a shame we could not spend longer with you. Xx
Sounds like you had a lovely time. Thanks for a lovely MMM.
